We have a lot of critters at Backwoods — deer, fox, hawks, frogs, salamanders, and even a resident Sasquatch — but never any turtles, at least until now. We remember hearing an interview on wonderful WRUR 88.5 where the Dirt Turtles were asked about the origin of their name. Although we don’t recall the answer, suffice it to say that this group epitomizes the Backwoods vibe.
